Over 95% of the all rebates processed are paper submissions. It’s estimated that 300 million rebates are processed annually, meaning that roughly 285 million rebate submissions are paper based. This results in the consumption of over 151,000 trees or enough energy to power all the homes in Chatanooga, TN or Tallahasse, FL for one full year. Additionally, more than 62 million gallons of water and 3.4 million gallons of crude oil per year*.

As you can tell, the current rebate processing industry is far from environmentally friendly. The paper intensive processing practices are very expensive in terms of natural resources.

Ohana has designed and implemented the only end-to-end online rebate processing platform. Ohana hosts a user facing rebate entry site where customers can enter their rebate submission.

Ohana then utilizes actual transaction data from our retailer partners to systemically ensure that only products purchased are validated for a rebate. Ohana then allows customers to select a redemption option other than a paper check as their rebate payment.

Since implementing the only 100% online rebate process, Ohana has saved considerable natural resources, not to mention the amount of customer dissatisfaction saved as well.
The average retailer program on the Ohana platform saves over:
531 trees
Enough electricity to power 188 households for one year
218,750 gallons of water
11,875 gallons of crude oil

*Based on one half ounce of paper per rebate submission and check fulfillment, does not include the tangential impact of delivery, postage, etc.
